‘Carpoolers’…. Second season is ‘where’?

admin on Sep-30-2008

Can any one please tell me, do they any have plans to bring ‘Carpoolers’ back? Well, I know, most of you’ll shake your head to say ‘No’. Same is here with me, I am pretty confused, whether ‘Carpoolers’ has been cancelled or it’ll be back ever? Ah… just crap! What the hell, they people are doing .. Fans are really very dissatisfied with their carelessness.

After the first season finale ‘Take Your Daughter to Work Day’, aired March 4, 08- there’s no news about second season. What to say about a show which got cancelled just after the first season. 13 episodes were aired during the first season of series. I think, plotline was good and I was really very impressed by the star cast of the show. Then, what was the need to close it. Yeah, WGA strike also contributed to cancel it.

There’s no information about second season so I decided to watch my favorite episode of first season. It’s entitled ‘The Handsomest Man’. It’s very interesting as well as enjoyable episode. In this episode, Laird comes to know that another man has been dubbed as ‘the handsomest man’ so he fears losing his sex appeal. So, in order to make himself more interesting to women, the frustrated Laird starts to take clarinet lessons. On the other hand, we see that Marmaduke has feelings for the girl who marked Leila’s flip.

Really, I am very disappointed as I don’t know anything about the second season. I loved it and it really had a great potential. Everyone was great and the subtle humor was really awesome. I’ll really miss those guys and also the humor which was the best part of ‘Carpoolers’.

Well, I still have a little hope… yeah, yeah, I know, it seems funny……. But I’ll not lose my heart, as you all know ‘Hope sustains life’.

Watch episodes of Carpoolers

admin on Sep-8-2008

I know, every fan of ‘Carpoolers’ must be missing the show like I do. As there is no news yet, about it’s come back on silver screen. It went on hiatus due to writers’ strike and returned for a short while in March 2008, but since the season finale they have not announced anything about making or planning of second season. I loved the show and those thirteen episodes were satisfactorily entertaining for me. That’s why I found this place to watch those episodes once again.

I think, it happens with other people too that a show makes a permanent imprint on your mind and you remember it for years that it had once aired. If you get an opportunity to watch those shows, then you become curious to get it as soon as possible. It’s fun for me watching those shows which have left the screen long back. Previously we could do the same with movies only, but now these kinds of sites have made it possible for tv shows as well.

Although, ‘Carpoolers’ is not an old show. It just departed in March of this year, but I liked this show a lot so started looking for it. I found it’s reviews on the most of the sites and finally reached here, and saw its name on the blog roll. Since that moment, I regularly visit this site to watch the episodes of many shows which are either closed or are in filming mode.

Along with watching episodes, here you get a lot much gossip about the star cast as well, so it’s always a pleasant experience visiting here. Downloading is very convenient. Most soothing thing for me is that I don’t have to go for paid membership to download anything. It takes just a few minutes to get an episode to watch without any hassle. Thank God no breaks here. Moreover it’s legal, so no threat of virus as well.

I told many of my friends about this site and last weekend during a boring party, we watched Carpoolers episodes together on my laptop. This is the best destination for watching ‘Carpoolers’ episodes for free.

Laird is everybody’s favorite

admin on Sep-5-2008

Laird is everyone’s favorite character on ‘Carpoolers’. After the show premiered in October 2007, many positive as well as negative reviews about his character appeared on news sites and TV magazines. Jerry O’Connell has portrayed the role and being a notorious actor, he has done justice with it. Laird has been shown as a divorced dentist and having least regrets over his divorce except that his wife taken away everything from him in the name of alimony. He lives in an emptied house. He remains boasting over his manhood and he appears really most manly among the group of carpoolers.

He takes complete advantage of his this trait and sleeps with as many women as he can. In an episode of Carpooler, Leila is also shown impressed of him and she confesses to Gracen that she thinks of being with him.

Although at some places he feels himself as not so lucky in case of married life, like other three guys.  He borrows Gracen’s wedding ring saying that after wearing it Gracen’s luck will shine upon him and women will find him more desirable. At one point, Gracen’ son too kicks off the buzz that Laird is his real dad and not Gracen.

I really liked Laird’s character. He is pretty different from the other three characters. They all are busy with sorting out the problems of their married and professional life. But he is a happy go lucky kind of person and concentrates only upon spreading his charm over ladies. He would go to any extent to impress women. In an episode, ‘The Seminar’, he blames a co-worker of sexual harassment just because he wants to spend time with and enchant sexual harassment seminar leader, whom he found hot at the first sight.

He develops an inferiority complex so easily, due to other men whom women find charming. In the episode, ‘The Handsomest Man’, he doubts that perhaps he has lost his charm as another man in the office has been declared as the handsomest man by ladies.

At least I found him the funniest character and I love watching his part on the show.

Guys rock the show………

admin on Aug-29-2008

‘Carpoolers’ is completely the guy’s show. Although, I don’t demean the characters of Leila and Cindy, but guys have remained the main attraction of the show from the very beginning. The storyline revolves around these four guys only. They discuss about their lives and their problems on the way to work, rather they do check if they are friends when not at work. They all are doing carpooling to support their financial conditions. The main humor factor of the show is what they discuss about their personal lives.

I enjoyed all the odd acts they do. Like in one episode, Laird brings an idea to find parking place in the parking for handicaps. He makes Gracen to act as a handicapped person but the duo got caught by the parking attendant and he given them a sound dose for that.

Gracen often regrets among the friends that he earns less than his son and his wife. Once he enters in to competition with his wife, who is a successful flipper of stock market, in an annual charity run. Gracen’s son helps him in that with his innovative ideas.

Laird, who is divorced, unites with his ex-wife once again and this kicks of the buzz in their group. Laird does score the humorous scenes due to his woman search. He continuously remains on duty of enchanting woman whether in office or outside.

Aubrey is also extremely funny with his seven kids and a lazy wife. In the finale episode he gets fired due to taking his daughter to work. Every scene at his home becomes funny with his way of tackling his noisy and undisciplined kids, when his wife is no help.

Gracen’s son Mermaduke is also not far behind than his father and his friends, he starts a new business of mowing lawns with the help of a clump of sheep.

Carpoolers gave a rocking season

admin on Aug-28-2008

Doesn’t matter if some people call it a poor show and they didn’t find it as happening, but to me it was a perfect comedy show. It’s short lived appearance made a positive imprint and I still love watching its episodes. This weekend, I checked out all the thirteen episodes being aired. In fact, it is more fun watching it here, instead of waiting for a full week to know what’s coming up in the next episode. Here I enjoyed all the episodes without any break or gap.

I must admit that the first episode was an average, because it just offered introductions of the characters and nothing special or funny happened in it. It is possible that the first episode might have discouraged many people of watching the next episode. The first episode was ‘Dougie’s First Day’, in which Dougie visits the carpoolers Gracen, Laird and Aubrey, as he is newly wed and is looking for a job. In the second episode, Laird started showing his bite of humor. He borrows Gracen’s wedding ring to brighten up his destiny about women as he is divorced. In this episode, Gracen’s son Marmaduke generates a chaos that Laird is his real father.

‘Who Would You Do?’ is the funniest episode of the season, in this episode, Gracen wants to make a night with her wife as extraordinarily, romantic, so he asks his wife Leila, who she fantasizes to be with except Gracen. Leila gives him detailed description of her fantasies with Laird and which blows up the things instead of spicing up.

Later in an episode, Laird alleges a female co-worker of his sexual- harassment, to spend some more time with sexual harassment seminar leader.

In ‘Wheels of Fortune’ episode, Laird tries up an idea of making Gracen act as with bad limp to get a parking spot in the parking of handicaps. The parking attendant spoils his trick. Check out episode to know what happened to them in the end.

If you want to see lady’s humor then check out the episode, ‘First Fight’. Leila is working upon promoting her real estate business and has got fliers for the purpose. But due to a typo, people think her as a hooker. Resist laughing after watching this episode if you can.

Recalling Carpoolers………..

admin on Aug-27-2008

Today, I came here to watch some TV shows and while going through the blog roll the name ‘Carpoolers’ caught my eye. At first the name didn’t ring the bell, but when I read the description of the show, it switched on my mind. I remember this show started in October 2007, and then went on respite after November 13, 2007 in the mid way of season one, and then reappeared in January. But it again ended in the beginning of March. All these irregularities happened due to the popular writers’ strike in 2008.

It happens every time with a good show. I remember it’s a romantic comedy of carpoolers who carry on buzzing about their married lives, as they are financially stable and no major problem is present in their lives, but it is human nature that we feel uncomfortable without any problems or issues to debate over. Same is the problem with the four guys of the show, as they go on developing inferiority complexes to get something to fuss over while on work. Every episode is capable of making you laugh hard.

Laird is the funniest character of the show; he is a divorced dentist as well as a carpooler and wants to remain the center attraction of women at office and anywhere. He easily develops the complex if ladies praise some other man in the office. Moreover he is a woman chaser and would do anything to get their attention. Gracen do kickoff laughter with his presence. In the third episode, he asks his wife about who she fantasizes of, to make a wild atmosphere in bedroom, and her wife Leila describes about Laird, good enough to spoil the scene. This episode really made me roll down with laughter.

Later Leila made another stroke with distributing fliers to promote her Stock Market business and a typo makes the passersby to think her as a hooker. The thing to laugh about is she is not aware of this typo.

All the thirteen episodes were stuffed with humor, and it is sad that writers’ strike caused it a hiatus until unknown period and till now there are no signs of season two.
But anyways, today I watched its episodes, here and the show made my day. Check it out.

Facts behind the scenes

admin on Aug-24-2008

Carpoolers’ has jumped off the screen in March this year and no updates about the new season have arrived yet. But still I have some interesting facts from behind the screen, while the show was in filming mode.

Do you know? At the time of shooting of this show, Jerry O’ Connell, portraying Laird, was newly tied in wedlock with Rebecca Romjin. His major trouble on the sets was his wedding ring, which he had to remove before every shot and he was in chaos of finding somebody who can take care of his ring, as he didn’t want to lose it soon after the vows.

One more funny fact about this couple is that he and Rebecca were just married at that time and Rebecca played his recently divorced wife in fifth episode of ‘Carpoolers’.

Let’s now talk about Dougie. Tim Peper, got the role of Dougie after 40 pilot auditions. The creators really made him work hard for the role of an eager newlywed man and a new carpooler as well. His efforts for the role can be judged from this fact that he once got sick due to a photo shoot and costume fittings on the same day and after which he immediately fled back to his home in New York to relax. Adding to his hectic time, he was called back again for the shooting within 48 hours.

On the other hand, Alison Munn, playing Dougie’s wife Cindy told reporters that she joined the show because of a special feature in it. According to her the show has proved that only malpractices and disturbances in married life doesn’t generate laughter. Rather a stable married life can also add to humor and that’s why she has chosen to play this role.

Now, the most astonishing fact, do you know where the creator, Bruce McCulloch got the idea of making ‘Carpoolers’? He was trapped into a traffic jam while returning with a friend from a short trip and saw something happening in the carpool lane there and he kept an eye on that for some time and developed the idea of making a show based on carpoolers’ lives.
Stay in touch for more updates and enjoy the fun of ‘Carpoolers’.

Carpoolers - A flash back

admin on Aug-23-2008

Carpoolers is an American single camera Comedy series which follows the eventful lives of four typical suburban men as they share their daily permute and pieces of their lives. Following are the four central characters on series which Carpoolers moves around- Laird, he’s a recently divorced self proclaimed playboy and a dentist as well. Aubrey is a husband to a couch potato wife and the only one shy breadwinner of his family; he seems frustrated from his life. Gracen, he’s a conservative traditional man and is a professional mediator, Leila his wife is a house flipper. And the last one is Dougie, a bright-eyed recently married guy and the new member of the gang, Cindy is his wife.

Carpoolers cast

So, these all are the four corners of the Carpoolers’ building and each one plays a very important role in series. All these man make a bond to deal with the tendencies at office at home. Series follows them as they rant about family, money and work and carpool to work. Series was premiered on October 2, 2007 and the series opener was entitled ‘Dougie’s First Day’.

Carpoolers

This successful as well as a brand new drama is produced by Dreamworks Television, ABC Television Studios, 3 Arts Entertainment and Touchstone Television. After the season 1 finale ‘Take Your Daughter to Work Day’ series has been cancelled. No chances of series’ return, but I must say their plot and story line was very unique and if it ever comes back, it’d be much more entertaining. Series was not worth of cancellation…. Let it back…. fans do want much more from Carpoolers!!
