Laird is everybody’s favorite
Laird is everyone’s favorite character on ‘Carpoolers’. After the show premiered in October 2007, many positive as well as negative reviews about his character appeared on news sites and TV magazines. Jerry O’Connell has portrayed the role and being a notorious actor, he has done justice with it. Laird has been shown as a divorced dentist and having least regrets over his divorce except that his wife taken away everything from him in the name of alimony. He lives in an emptied house. He remains boasting over his manhood and he appears really most manly among the group of carpoolers.
He takes complete advantage of his this trait and sleeps with as many women as he can. In an episode of Carpooler, Leila is also shown impressed of him and she confesses to Gracen that she thinks of being with him.
Although at some places he feels himself as not so lucky in case of married life, like other three guys. He borrows Gracen’s wedding ring saying that after wearing it Gracen’s luck will shine upon him and women will find him more desirable. At one point, Gracen’ son too kicks off the buzz that Laird is his real dad and not Gracen.

I really liked Laird’s character. He is pretty different from the other three characters. They all are busy with sorting out the problems of their married and professional life. But he is a happy go lucky kind of person and concentrates only upon spreading his charm over ladies. He would go to any extent to impress women. In an episode, ‘The Seminar’, he blames a co-worker of sexual harassment just because he wants to spend time with and enchant sexual harassment seminar leader, whom he found hot at the first sight.
He develops an inferiority complex so easily, due to other men whom women find charming. In the episode, ‘The Handsomest Man’, he doubts that perhaps he has lost his charm as another man in the office has been declared as the handsomest man by ladies.
At least I found him the funniest character and I love watching his part on the show.
